Don't you love a job that pays you to sail?

I'm currently being kept VERY busy writing marina reviews for The Atlantic Cruising Club guide book to marinas. I'm doing reviews for the New England / Rhode Island 8th edition.

I also write a monthly piece for Long Island Boating World. Another fun gig!

Love the photos!

Sorry, all are long gone. But every time I visit shoreside family and friends I am delighted to see that every one of them have molas, or Colombian cortinas, or Haitian folkart paintings, or Peruvian incised gourds, or Quechua llama-wool tapestries hanging on their walls, draped over chairs or tables. It brings back many memories. I am grateful for the fact that I live on a sailboat and suffer no obligation to collect and store large amounts or stuff. The only thing I collect these days is navigational charts and fishing lures! (Smile)

Noticed you're interested in spending more time in Panama and the Camarca de San Blas. I spent 2 and 1/2 years hanging out with the Cuna. Bought hundreds upon hundreds of molas to sell in the States. Met a wonderful young Cuna named Braulio Henry on Wechubwala (sp?) who served as our translator. Braulio sailed to California aboard a large sailing yacht and hung out in southern California until Immigrations caught up with him. Despite his misadventures in the US, he is a great ambassador for the San Blas. He speaks Cuna, Spanish and English. Probably married now with children. Haven't seen him for many years (pre-Internet days). He's definitely worth looking up for a local guide.
