Musings of Gypsy Heart - Looking for my future live aboard home. (Dinghy named Bliss)

'Gypsy Heart' Sailing Vessel, 28 to 34 feet. 'Bliss' Dinghy, my next home & my first full time live aboard vessel.

This is my first blog and it's about my journey to live aboard & the people and resources I discover along the way.
A gypsy at heart and in my DNA, who's completely in love with the seas and the winds, I want to make my next home aboard.

Most likely a sloop but possibly a catamaran for live aboard, coastal and blue water cruising. Must be single handed rigged or capable, pleasing to my eye & fast under sail, well-built, seaworthy, good value & diesel engine (if a sloop).
I'm not looking for a lot of wood to maintain. A bit of wood trim here and there is fine.
I'm interested in having the basics and not a lot of fancy gadgets to maintain.

So I have the name, the criteria, budget and faith. I've gifted or sold most of my belongings and am down to what can fit into or on top of my Ford Focus. My children are grown & on their own, I'm single and my two cats, my boys, brothers, age 10, adopted a young family to live out the rest of their days. I visit them often but there won't be any pets aboard. I've rented my house and plan to sell in 2-3 years.

Planning on sailing as many different vessels as possible the next year or so. Open to a boat choosing me sooner !

Maximum Budget to purchase, outfit and live aboard for 2 - 3 years is $ 80,000.

(After sailing small boats: Solings, 420's, Hobies & windsurfers back in the day (my twenties) , my first and only big boat was a sloop, 'Genesis' Hunter 33, communally (now they call it fractional or syndicate) owned with 2 others for 5 years & sold for a down payment on a house to raise 2 kids).

Good plan, and smart. Take your time, don't grab the first boat that grabs you. There are alot more suitable boats than there are buyers. It's all good.
