EGADS, We are on the Sixth Day B4 Sailing North...

Where oh where does the time go. Like my budget I seem to have this propensity for taking longer than I plan to get things done and spend more than I budget to buy some of life's little pleasures.

Take today for example. I took a mental health day from my school counseling job to tidy up the house. It took me six hours just to wipe down the baseboards and vacuum between the carpet and the wall. You know the edges where it would seem impossible for even the smallest speck of dust to collect. Not only did I find dust, I actually saved two tiny lizards from their darken little indoor home. Scooting them out with the edge of the vacuum cleaner hose, then scurrying them out the back door they seemed more anxious than I was to get back to the garden.

Now, I again worry if I will get everything done. Six more days. Oh dear, my kitchen counter is towering with books and assorted items I am not sure should go on the boat. The life vests need to be given a shaking out then repacked. My car needs to be washed. I still don't have the windsheild wipers working, but hey, I'll be sailing for two months and the car will be sitting quietly in the garage. Clothes need to be packed. Sleep needs to be had.

The gate still doesn't close properly, the hole in the yard from whence my hot tub used to relax me under the moonlit skies at 2 o'clock in the morning, is still a vacant hole. Safety lines around the pool are needed. The awnings are a mess. The fridge and pantry need to be emptied and lordy, lordy, lordy, the garage is a mess.

Guess I better quit fretting and start moving. Afterall I did treat myself to a nice break last night at Heidi's in Cocoa Beach. What a great place to relax and listen to jazz singer Sybil Gage. Tomorrow night my BFF and our canoe buddy will meet me on SPRAY to lighten the load, provide much needed levity, and sort lines.

Life is good;

"Hi All, french built 2010 43 has been very dry down below but now a slow leak has occurred which is showing at the limber holes under the floor board in forward cabin. Bilge pump goes every 3hrs for 20secs. Not sure if it’s fresh/rain water or…"
