SeaKnots

Apologies retroactively and in advance for typos and bad grammar. All my posts are from Tavernas and obviously I cant just come in and use the wifi without ordering something! I have tried (unsuccessfully) to find a Greek beer that I like so I am forced to revert to my old staple of Heineken. Yesterday, we motored from Corinth to Galaxidi ..where I am now ..seated in a Taverna (where else?) looking across the road at all the flotilla boats. I have just discovered the 'joys' of flotilla sailing!. Leaving Corinth yesterday we became aware that Fanourios' (boat name) chain was snagged in another anchor chain or two....what to do? ...call the lead boat!! and these wonderful young sailors had us sorted in a few minutes ..stress free sailing!! No wind ..so we motored as far as Galaxidi stopping just outside to have a quick swim. We proceeded to the small village pier, radioed in and ... again ...the lead team directed us in ..reversing in stern-to ...dropping the anchor about 3 boat lengths out ....and securing 2 stern lines to the pier wall ..tighten up the anchor chain ..put down the gang plank ...and thats it

I sure wish I could be with you and your group, sounds like a great trip. I never got to see much by boat when I was there. (Military) Have a Souvlaki for me. I think this is about the time of year they have their wine festival in Athens. The only beer they had worth drinking when I was there was Fix Red and Fix Blue lable, and neither were that good, so we drank a lot of Ozo and their home grown wine. (and a ton of asprin afterwards)
