Hi, I am new to sailing but fear that already it is becoming an addiction. More, more, more. I want more sailing. Is there a cure for this?
Current location:
Winthrop
Destinations visited:
Saling destinations? Not many. World destinations? Quite a few: Canada, Mexico, Italy, Nepal, Thailand, Iceland, 5 republics in the old USSR (Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia)... several Carribean islands (favorite is Tortola)... and lots of places in the States
Looking to:
I have crewed in 5 sailboat races.... same boat, same amazing skipper. My goal is to become proficient in sailing and racing so that one day he will not have to explain so much to me and I can help him WIN. (He wins anyway in spite of my newness) Then after that... buy my own boat? I welcome ANY opportunity to sail.
We can sail year round although Dec. - Feb. are COLD and water level is low so, some days don't leave the slip. But, I enjoy just being around the marina. I'm still building confidence. Harvest Moon Regatta was last wknd - it's an annual offshore race from Galveston to Port Aransas. I hope to try to crew next year.
