- Lifelong Harbor Rat. My Grandfather was a wooden boatbuilder, anything from skiffs to schooners and yachts to barges. Messing about in boats is in my blood. Am currently buildig 2 small boats and restoring a 40' trawler built by my grandfather in 1966.
