Profile Information

Profile Type:
Sailor
Homeport:
Arizona Lakes
About Me:
Newbie for now... Will probably build my next daysailer. And, may I add "Marine" to the Sailor type. hahahahaha... I'll add pictures when I remember to bring my flash drive. If you get onto MySpace look for Bradmire. If you can get on you'll see a lovely sunrise shot with the old Potter with 5 invisible people asleep on a reflective Roosevelt Lake. Nice.
Current location:
Arizona
Destinations visited:
Coronado/SD Bay, San Francisco Bay, Arizona lakes, and once spent 3 days/nights as an unpaid "visitor-deckhand" on an Okinawan 40' fishing boat while on leave in transit during my crazy USMC days. That Pacific at night all alone is AWESOME! Ah, and I took a wonderful 5 day Maine schooner cruise on a REAL Glouchester fast boat "American Eagle" under Capt. John Foss out of Northend Shipyards, Rockland, Me. Go to their website for some great times! It was at the beginning of October so the tourists were gone, the leaves were changing, and the winds were a bit snappy... Great speed runs on occasion "hanging all the rags" till we were running on the gunwales! Loved every moment of it. Here in Arizona had an old West Wight Potter 14 #220...lost it in financial collapse 96 along with my little Super Snark with a modified daggerboard/rudder/longer top spar to mimic an Egyptian falucca. Great for light air and ran like a sailboard in stronger winds. Loved being able to carry it over my head in Coronado and launch at the rocks' end of Glorietta Bay by tossing it into the water and stepping the rig. Could just move about the harbor all day with ease as people waved and stared at the ragamuffin sail rig of various materials. :-)
Looking to:
get back onto ANY water under sail. My favorite rig is the lateen... I'm lazy. Well, I also like getting tightly into the wind on the canyon lakes around here.

"Michael, From experience over three keel boats a fully battened main is almost a requirement. Not only will it make dropping the sail into the boom bag far easier it certainly reduces any flogging and vastly lengthens the life of the sail. While…"

"Hi All, french built 2010 43 has been very dry down below but now a slow leak has occurred which is showing at the limber holes under the floor board in forward cabin. Bilge pump goes every 3hrs for 20secs. Not sure if it’s fresh/rain water or…"
