I'm a retired government engineer who has been a conservative SOB for 35 years. I'm ready for some adventure. Not taking ridiculous chances, but, ready to move out a little closer to the edge. I own a MacGregor 25 which is very trailerable and I plan to escape the Texas heat next summer by trailer sailing the northern U.S.
Current location:
Grapevine Lake, North Texas
Destinations visited:
Grapevine Lake, (Dallas, TX), Lake Travis (Austin, TX), Cedar Creek Lake (Gun Barrel City, TX)
Looking to:
I plan to put my Mac 25 on the trailer next summer and head north. I envision hitting northern Missouri for some lake sailing, then head for Green Bay, eastern Lake Michigan, Lake Erie, Lake Ontario, Finger Lakes region of New York, Long Lake in the Adirondacks, Thousand Island area of New York and then end up on the St Lawrence Seaway. After lowering and raising the mast more times than I can count, I'll put her back on the trailer and head back to Texas for some nice fall weather. The next summer I plan to do a similar thing, but, head west like for Wyoming, Montana, Washington and Oregon.
