Profile Information

Profile Type:
Sailor
Homeport:
Wherever the boat is.
About Me:
I Started sailing maxi racers in Queensland Australia. I've spent months live aboard on yachts there.

I Just bought a boat in February 2009 and sailed it solo from Melbourne ,FL to Kemah, TX around the FL keys.

I hate it that my little boat goes so slow, I fell in love with 20 to 40 knot boats, but it's mine. If you've got a 80+ ft yacht and looking for crew I'm ready to go worldwide.

Volvo Ocean Racing is porn for me. Southern ocean sailing I gotta do once before I go.

So far I'm enjoying sailing Galveston Bay frequently and loving living aboard everyday. It's a real pleasure lately to be getting to know a small area as I'm usually navigating unfamiliar waters. It's a real chore here as the shoals are everywhere.

Did I mention I was a gourmet chef for 4 years and can cook onboard for 20+ crew on an ongoing basis?

ARRGH!
Current location:
Kemah, TX
Destinations visited:
4 million air miles in the US
8,000 rail miles in OZ
Sailing:
Whitsunday Islands, Queensland Australia
Circumnavigate New Zealand's North Island
Florida's east coast / Bahamas / Keys
Florida's west coast to middle of Texas
Galveston Bay
Looking to:
Sail Galveston Bay to Corpus Christi then onto Grand Cayman and Jamacia then off to Puerto Rico in 2010. Maybe even Costa Rica and a Panama crossing.

Or, I'd dump my boat for a crew position for a trans pacific trip.

New Years Sail

Posted on January 3, 2010 at 1:06am 0 Comments

Met a bloke and his wife the other night on the dock. Did a few hours sailing early this morning 10-15 knot breeze. topping out around .6.7 knots on a Hunter '38. Easy breezy, too easy as they say in the coral sea. A bit chilly, sorta like NZ in summer...
