I am returning to sailing a long hiatus in preparation for retirement and a cruising lifestyle. Once owned and raced a J-24 in Austin, TX, and crewed on Stars, Thistles, and other small boats in my youth. Always loved sailing.
Current location:
Back in Cleveland area after a spring in Florence, Italy
Destinations visited:
Sardinia, Cinque Terra...lovely coastal area near Genoa...Now looking for sailing friends on Lake Erie! Contact me if you are looking for crew...
Looking to:
Begin cruising or racing on Lake Erie over the summer. Meet local sailors for racing and/or cruising. Anyone have recommendations for a marina to visit to get to know people?

Ahoy Sir Charles,
Austin was my stomping ground '00-'05. Never had the cahones to launch my daysailor at Windy Point, though I sat at her banks time and time, antsy and ready to leap though still green to sailing. Glad I didnt, I would've upset her and had to witness her inundating demise. Our maiden voyage was off of Arkansas Bend at night. Left out of Lago VIsta several times when Pace Bend is hopping. Good Times!
When I was in Austin, all the ole hippies were ready to leave now that everyone and there grandma moved in.
Just a note to compliment you on the photo of Venice...I visited there during the spring. I am now back in Cleveland area for the summer. Hope you are having a wonderful time over the Fourth!
Charles
Charles,
Thank you for inviting me to be your friend. I was in Italy 2 years ago - Genoa, Milan and Rome. My favorite spot was Venice - just breathtaking beauty. What a fabulous country you are experiencing! Have a great time! Viki
Hi Charles, Italy sounds wonderful...what do you teach? I teach a bilingual 2nd grade in an inner city school-very rough...I went to school at Ohio U. Do you know Dean Kahler who was shot at Kent State? Take care, Cathleen
Hi Charles, how are you? I also love sailing, as you might have guessed...but feel pretty landlocked here in Ohio. i bet Italy is way more exciting, of course...are you there sailing? have a great day-Cathleen
