- On the Waterside is a web site I just created, to chonicle a voyage around my home, Long Island off of New York City. As a retired high school English and Film teacher, I felt it was time I learned about my home waters, the East End, the Hamptons and Montauk. Daily I will post blogs, weekly there will be video of my adventures, monthly I will explore the mansions, harbors, islands and bays that dot the Great South Bay, the peconic, the Sound and the Atlantic.

Hey, I noticed your picture of the Jones beach amphitheater with all of the boats anchored in front of it. How does that work? We have a 5.5 foot draft, would we be able to join in the festivities or is our keel to deep? It looks like so much fun! Let me know and welcome to SeaKnots!
