awwww... there's a statue of a seal in Rockport, Me. They are so friendly!

The photo was taken from the floating dock near the Seafood Market in the Port of Friday Harbor by Laura on March 16th 2008. Popeye is a one eyed female Harbor Seal that has lived in the Port for several years. They tell me she has a pup every winter, she had one while we were there, and hangs out around the dock where the fish market and the fishing boats are begging handouts just like a dog. The fish market sells treats to the summer tourists for her and she will splash you to get attention if you don't feed her. There is a statue of her in the park overlooking the harbor complete with one dead eye. I just uploaded the photo of the statue.
