When Nature Calls, it is time to step up to the bowl. Having had my Nature's Head Compost Toilet installed about five months ago, I finally had the courage to use it. I spent the first week adjusting the tilt so the urine would flow into the forward section and drain evenly into the two gallon container. I would dump it every 3 or 4 days and did not notice any odor. After dumping I rinsed it with fresh water then, reinstalled.

Four days ago I bravely position my buttocks while praying my poop would go straight into the shoot. Amazed that there was no noticeable trace of debri on the top side of the bowl. Although, I still used a paper towel to wipe the entire bowl, then thoroughly disinfected my hands.

Using only the recommended Spaghnum pete moss, my guest yesterday insisted she did not detect any odors. My staunchest critique, ex beau/current mechanic, has not said a word. So far no odor and I get to use an almost real bathroom. It does feel weird not having a flusher.

Hey, this is the year 2013, and it's back to nature.
