Aloha to all who commented,
Thank you for the education! I did a little fast research (wikipedia) and found out that the Ono is indeed related to both the King and Spanish Mackeral, as well as the skipjack and other Tuna! In fact, related to 55 other fishes ! My surprise. Again, Mahalo nui for the inquiring minds. And yes, I'm a happy fisherman.
Aloha k KA'KOU,

It looks similar to mackarel though! Someone looks very happy & it's not the fish. Great photos - thanks !

This is an Ono, called Wahoo on the mainland. Not sure if it's in the King Mackeral family. Don't think so. I believe that it's a cousin to the Skipjack...We had hamburgers too! With cheese. Sashimi from the Ono is delicious. In fact, Ono means delicious in Hawaiian. Serious. Thanks for looking. and have fun. Aloha ka'kou,
Lleonard

What kind of a fish is this ?..
Was fishing today just before another downpour of rain. Fish were jumping all around me. Not one bite, not one nibble.. so we had hamburgers on the grill.. ..sigh.. :-(
