We did nine months of full time cruising including an Atlantic crossing with a dry bilge. Only issues we've had o far have been with the shower sump seal twice. Crossing our fingers!

Found my latest water leak...it was coming from the emergency tiller shaft chrome cover. It was not screwed tight enough and water leaked through into the rear lazerette that ended up in my bilge. I only found the water in the bilge after it rained or I washed down the cockpit area.

Tom, Not sure I am looking in the right place... I'll post pictures of our AC under the discuusion "Airconditioning seawater leak" Our sea water leak does not really seem to be coming form AC. So I remain baffled. Freash water deginetly that pump picture also posted under that discussion.

Let us know what you find.

Understood as I beleive our seawater problem started first then I started seeing fresh water making its way into the bilge with the sea water.. .traced the fresh back to the pump under the seat. Now I just got to go see the A/C.. BTW the seacock was closed until we started using the AC. The boat itself is great!!

Aquamarine this is sea not fresh water leak. The sea water that feeds the AC unit runs through this tube. You might want to check the hose/tubes from the seacock all the way to the exit hose. Mine dripped with the seacock open and the AC turned off. I hope this helps. BTW how do you like the boat now that you've had it a while?

We too have a fresh water leak (found to be at the fresh water system pump, the filter housing itself has a suspect crack). I'll add a picture here when I get back to the boat. We also have a salt water leak which seemed to have began when we started up the AC unit, back in those hot days of July. So I have not yet had the chance to check for the hole like pictured here. FYI, the bilge was nice and dry until July, so she's been in the water for 1/2 season (from new), hauled for the winter and back in for the another 1/2 before having this problem. So you can add into the stats that we too have experienced a "wet" bilge.

I would be interested in knowing what percentage of B40-43 owners have wet bilges. Please chime in!

Franc yes I just resealed the aft shower sump too. You're correct it's always something.

Wow. Thanks for the heads up. My bilge was also filling with water this weekend but we found out it was due to the shower sump in the aft cabin leaking again. Fixing it this week. Ooooh well... there´s always something...
