Some of the new teak I made for the Bayfield. I have replaced all the exterior teak on this boat and for a plastic boat it has a lot of teak both on the outside and inside.

Yes they slide in and are called companionway boards when they do it this way. I have been going to modify them and in place of 2 have 3 so that the middle one can be changed with one of 3 types, wood, a plastic panel or a slated teak vent panel. This will require me to cut the large one so it is shorter and make the new 3 kinds of inserts. The bottom one will stay as it is.

I have seen where some people have made hinged doors for the companionway and I will have to see if I saved the photos.

I cannot comment on your shape as I have not seen it but would bet it is just fine. :)

is that a slide in wood door? I need one but want it to hinge, and I have an odd shape
