About Me:
I am just a down to earth gentleman, who enjoys the good things in life. I love living in the Now, down here in the sunshine. When I was a young man I went northwest from the Midwest to Alaska. Now it's time to sail south and explore all of the natural wonders of Florida. Let’s sail off into the sunset. We will set a heading South to the Florida Keys. If the winds and the tides are with us let's cruise the Caribbean. Would you like to come? Hope to hear from you soon.

The Men Who Don't Fit In

Robert W. Service

There's a race of men that don't fit in,
A race that can't stay still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin,
And they roam the world at will.
They range the field and they rove the flood,
And they climb the mountain's crest;
Theirs is the curse of the gypsy blood,
And they don't know how to rest.

If they just went straight they might go far;
They are strong and brave and true;
But they're always tired of the things that are,
And they want the strange and new.
They say: "Could I find my proper groove,
What a deep mark I would make!"
So they chop and change, and each fresh move
Is only a fresh mistake.

And each forgets, as he strips and runs
With a brilliant, fitful pace,
It's the steady, quiet, plodding ones
Who win in the lifelong race.
And each forgets that his youth has fled,
Forgets that his prime is past,
Till he stands one day, with a hope that's dead,
In the glare of the truth at last.

He has failed, he has failed; he has missed his chance;
He has just done things by half.
Life's been a jolly good joke on him,
And now is the time to laugh.
Ha, ha! He is one of the Legion Lost;
He was never meant to win;
He's a rolling stone, and it's bred in the bone;
He's a man who won't fit in.

Sailing down to the Lost Man's River. Would like to spend about a month in Everglades, to see if I can find myself. Then sailing down to Key West to get lost again.

    Hi Capt. Ron, I am just catching up on things as it's too cold to work on my boat. I have to remove the fuel tank and have a new bottom put on as I noticed a slight diesel fuel smell and slick when I halled it last fall.

    Hope all is well and think warm, it's 37F here and we had snow yesterday.

    The photos are great. Are you getting ready for the oncoming hurricane season...? I'm still up the Caloosahatchee River in Ft. Myers. I figure I can motor up behind the first lock if something starts to head this way. I was thinking of moving back to the Charlotte Harbour area. Are there any other live-aboards besides Fishermen's Village that you know of....?
