So, you've been in Turkey for that long? It must be well worth the trip. Unfortunately for us (this time) we'll be flying from NYC to London to Istanbul to Bodrum....but once we get there I cannot wait to explore! We'll be on a big wooden goulet. One day we'll be corossing the big ocean to get there on our own boat...one day.
Ahoy! Check out this guys journal from the years. He sailed that area within the year(may have to click through to find what day but he may have said someting interesting about the area of Australia.. http://www.gypsysoulsailing.com/ Delete Comment
Thank you /)ances with Sails, that Ben Edelstein is quite a character and tells his stories well. I will enjoy reading his exploits in Australian waters. Thanks again
Hey Lorenzo,
I've had the opportunity to visit Porto Cervo twice.
1st time back in 1984 with the Swan 65 Evrika (Greek owned) during delivery from Pireus to Palma. Parked next to the Aga Kahn's boat. It was November and the place was empty.
Then in 1986 I was the bowman on board the Spanish 1-Tonner Ameldos for the Sardinia Cup. Now that was a big party!
We broke our mast on the first race and spend the night with the yard crew fixing the mast for stepping the next morning for the long distance race. That night with the yard crew I leaned how to cuss in Italian. We ended up 3rd as a team in the regatta.
