    Hey Marcelle,
What kind of dinghy is that in the photo?
You say 125 dinghy, not familiar with that class.
    Looks fun and fast!

    Hi Marcelle,
It sounds like you too have a full life with a great bunch of kids.
You're in a great part of the world too!

    Marcelle,

If youwant to cruise away in 5 years, it is worthwhile to get the boat now, and do it up slowly until you are happy with it that it will be good enough to rely on it in all conditions.

In the 5 years, you can also learn to sail it well enough to be confident with it.

That is what I am doing.

Upgrading most system is just taking a lot of time. Not to mention the lazy weekends.

The current thingking with blue water yacht size for 2 person is about 40 to 42 ft. But in the old school, 34 to 36 is more manageable physically as well as on the pocket. The problem is that the current design for the mid 30 cruiser is too light weight. Visit my pages and you can see an older boat that was made for cruising with only 33 ft long.

Oleana water capacity is 370 l and fuel 220 l. Not bad for a small boat.

    Good luck in your search.

    Hello Marcelle,
I just got your message. If you're planning to visit east of Toronto then you're not far from where we are.. We're about 4 hours east of Toronto.
Keep in touch and let me know when you're in our area.

    Marcelle,
My parents sailed around the world on a 37ft Tartan, (Mom wrote a book about it called The Oceans are Waiting By Sharon Ragle).
America is a great place to find a cruising boat, I would think that Oz has a lot too, why not shop in your area? are they more expensive?
    Nice to meet you,
    Erika

That is exactly what my mom did, waited till we were all grown and as soon as I was out of the house, she was off on her adventure.

    Hey its Erika
Yeah my parents rock! I am very proud of them:)
Mom, Dad, and I are total ocean lovers, while my brother is an space geek (he is V.P. of the Houston Astronomy club), and my sister is a mountains/wilderness nut (she canoes, hikes, camps etc). So we are a colorfully bunch :)
    BTW-beautiful painting
