Come forward and be recognized! There are sailors in Northern Virginia, Maryland and Metro DC but they are so spread out. Let's get together here and maybe we can meet up on the water too.
Just in case anybody is interested. There's a few folks interested in circumnavigating the Delmarva penninsula over the Memorial Day holiday.
Just sign up at www.sailnet .
They had a little gettogether saturday (2/7/09) in Annapolis. About 25 people and 10 boats so far.
The more the merrier!!

John, I didn't have any success with this link. Is there another one available. I would like more information. Will the group be sailing out of Annapolis? Thanks....Gaye Currier
We're doing our annual USNA DELMARVA beginning 8 May. The boats will be 1- Farr 40, 2- Navy 44 MKII's, 2 Navy 44MKI's, 1- Farr 53 & 1 Reichel/Pugh 66. Safety training is the main aspect of the trip to qualify the Midshipmen crews in Crew-Overboard drills (quickstop, spinnaker fast return & figure 8), drogue deployment, emergency steering, flooding, reefing, racing sail changes, storm sails, crew-aloft communications, watchstanding, log-keeping & etc...
We also do a race we call "The Parker Memorial".
The Midshipmen affectionately call this "The HELL-MARVA".
