SeaKnots

I installed Lifeline AGM batteries upon commissioning the boat when new. I used GPL 27T's on the engine start and bow thruster service. I used the 6 volt GPL 4ct's in the house bank ( total of six, 660 amp hour capacity)

I just had to replace both of the GPL27T's. Boat was commissioned in July of 2008, so a bit over 7 years life obtained from those two. Hope to get at least a year or more from the house side, as they have been managed carefully.

Just data for those interested,

Sam

James, we're talking Apples and Oranges with the Deka 4Ds. While you had AGMs I had the Wet Cells which were rated much lower in AMP Hours. I had seen two different ratings for the wet cells with one estimate in the low 130Ahr range and the other at 160Ahr. I had two Deka 4Ds rated at approximately 260 to 320 Ahr between them and that only lasted two years tops. I swapped them out for 4 Trojan 6V rated at 225Ahr a pair for a total of 450 Ahr. There's no comparison in performance between the Deka's and the Trojans.
