The Seawater pump (part # 129271-42500) for the Yanmar 4JH engine costs approx. $750.

The Seawater pump (part #129670-42512) for the Yanmar 3JH engine costs approx $260.

All parts on these two parts are interchangeable except 2 - the drive gear, and the discharge hose connection.

You can turn the 3JH pump into a 4JH pump by either moving the drive gear and outlet connection from your old 4JH pump to the 3JH pump, or by purchasing a new gear (part #128271-42700 for $132), and a straight discharge connection (part #X01357681 for $22), and putting those on the 3JH pump.

Either way you have a seawater pump for the 4JH engine at half or less of the cost. Hope this will help some or you guys/gals.

Post this information on any site you can. I have put it on "Cruising & Sailing Forums".

Owning a boat is expensive enough without getting ripped off on parts.

"Auto ascending setup is an interesting idea, though it takes a bit of fiddling around to get it right. Once it's dialed in, it actually works quite well."
