Could someone please verify for me that the only way to pump out the holding tank is through the deck fitting?

I do understand that if the Y valve is placed in the overboard position and the through hull is open, any discharge from the toilet via electric flush goes directly overboard (at least I think it will not pass through the holding tank).

My concern is the ability to empty the holding tank while at sea should it become full during that transition time to go off shore.

Thanks for any info provided.

Wayne,

There is a black button below the head sink that, when held, will pump the holding tank overboard.  Going by memory - I think it's rate of flow is 10 gal per minute so it takes 2 minutes to pump out a full holding tank.  You do have to check that your through hull for the pump outlet is open.  For what its worth I had to be told how to it too....

Bob,

Thank you so much for that info. I HAVE seen that button and not being labeled, and not knowing what it controls,I kept my fingers away from it! You know the old saying about "if you don't know what it does....."

Thanks again,

Wayne

Well Bob as luck would have it, my boat does not have the optional macerator pump for holding tank pump out. There is a black switch under the sink but it is for the shower sump drain. Thanks again for the reply.
