- Am aspiring sailor. Wish to make 'homeport' in general, the Grenadines and the BVI
- About Me:
- Older, educated guy here - artist and photographer. Am in the process of scrapping everything and inventing a whole new life in the Caribbean. In the past have lived in various parts of the region - St. Vincent, Bequia, Virgin Gorda, and in the Western Carribean, Providencia, Co.. While i have adequate funds for life there, these do not meet requirements for permanent residency in the Eastern Caribbean. So my plan for the moment is to spend six months in the Grenadines, six months in the BVI. While it is less than perfect, this admirable mobility will overcome the 'same old, same old' factor. Of course, mating for a live-on skipper, or care-taking a yacht year-round would accomplish the same end. - Looking to hook-up with a live-on skipper in need of a ship mate and some genial company. Otherwise, will be seeking yachtsmen for deckhand work, allowing me to bum about the caribbean at will. Right or wrong, the most southerly Windwards seem the least punished by hurricanes of the eastern islands. So i expect to spend June - Dec. in the Grenadines, Dec - June in the BVI. Do you have a captain's license? That would be a big advantage to getting a position on a yacht.
