About Me:
I moved onto my boat in July, 2012, having rented my house in Northern Virginia. I expect to sell it this spring (2013). I started down the AIWW in early November, and ran into boat and grounding trouble. I have now (I hope) had the boat repairs completed and expect to continue my voyage to St. Augustine or further south on Tuesday, 2/11/13. I am looking for people to sail with.

To continue, I sailed to St. Augustine and spent 2 months there, then sailed back up to Deale, MD, with one offshore hop from St. Aug to Beaufort, SC and up the ICW thereafter to Norfork. Then up the Chesapeake to Deale, with one stop in Readville, VA for repairs after ripping off my prop on a crab pot float, and sailing to to an anchorage in the Great Wicomoco by dying wind and then by tidal flow about 11:00 pm. Headed out for Florida again the end of October 2013. Down the CB and ICW to Beaufort NC then outside to Cape Fear, then inside to Charleston, where I parked for 10 days to return up north for family matters.

Picked up where I left off and went inside to Beaufort SC, then outside to a spectacular anchorage in Sapelo sound, then outside to Fernandina Beach. Had to hole up there a few days for weather. Then inside to St. Augustine for the Thanksgiving dinner there at the city marina. Then inside all the way to Port Everglades. I do not recommend the inside path south of the Lake Worth Inlet. Just too many bascule bridges south of there, something like 28. I used the ICW because I wanted to visit friends in Boca and did not want to hazard the Boca Raton inlet by myself.

Finally went out the Port Everglades Inlet (Fort Lauderdale) and with two anchorages along the way made it to Boot Key Harbor in December. I stayed in Boot Key Harbor on a mooring for two months, then to Key West for a week or so, then to the Dry Tortugas for about 4 days. Then a wonderful straight shot 26 hour sail to Punta Gorda on close reach and beam reach all the way to turning north to get to Punta Gorda inside Charlotte Harbor, and a downwind sail up Charlotte Harbor to PG. Have been here ever since, finally buying a condo with a dock out back.
