Sorry I took so long. I haven't been on this website in a while. I don't currently own a boat, but I sail regularly on a friend's Pearson 36. I have extensive blue water sailing experience and was an Operations specialist in the US Navy. I sell Real Estate in Ocean City, NJ and hopefully will buy another boat soon. In the meantime sailing someone else's boat is fun as when something breaks, it doesn't cost anything.
Yes I mainly race, preferred position bow and navigator. I've done all of the bay races and entered a boat in the Golden Rock Regatta in 08 and won it. We did our own delivery from Guadalupe to St. Martin, so that was just cruising for 150 miles. Now I'm hooked on sailing in the Caribbean. I want to try long distance cruising now, in between races. Overnight cruises on the bay is a good place to start.

I live in Wayne and sail regularly on the Delaware River with Sailtime.
Sailtime has a Facebook section and you can check out their website. There are lots of good people and good sailing with this organization. My wife and I recently returned from a wonderful week in the BVIs with a 7 boat Sailtime floatilla. It was lots of fun and the cost of the trip was reasonable. I look forward to meeting you on the water.

Hi Stede,
yes when we were sailing the Pamlico my cousin kept sayng "bad water" as the channel can be very tricky and the water gets shallow pretty quick. We may be looking for crew on the Bermuda trip. We'll probably end up switching out crews in Bermuda as some people are uable to take a month for the trip. Given any delays that is our targeted timeframe. How far are you from Washington NC/ Maybe we'll meet the next time I'm down that area. We are planning a spring trip to Ocracoake. possibly a meet there. we should stay in touch.
Hey Maureen. You sound like an awesome gal.I'm a certified PADI diver.I love both snorkling in diving.I've not gotten to do nearly as much diving as I would like to.You're shake down sail from Bath to Beaufort sounds interesting.I've sailed my 26 footer from Oriental over to Ocracoke.Blackbeard's old haunt! Arrghh!! It's a great area to sail but will "eat your lunch" if you don't keep a close eye on your charts and boat track. The Pamlico is shallow with a lot of shoals. Most of my sailing trips have been coastal,or chartered. The only trips I've done that I would consider some what "blue water" are the trips I did to the Bahamas and Dry Tortugas on my 26 footer.I did both trips single-handed.I would love to do some longer length bluewater trips.I envy you.ha!ha!

S/V PANACHE and lil Callie Kat just wanted to reply. Seems you like a lil underwater swim, myself GOM, Guam, Calibra, rastaland, the navy pier at night is great, Malaya, just a few places for a great dive. Is not the weather grand, at least in East Texas it is great. Think I will take ol PANACHE out of the marina and anchor out tonight. Have a great day.
Hi Maureen, I'm new at this but just join and put a message out there as to what you want. I haven't been getting online here much lately. I'm in Annapolis and having a ball. Will sail south somewhere when it starts getting cold. Welcome to seaknots.
