Having just learned the meaning of irreverance it se ems a perfect descriptor for anyone who chooses to set sail across an ocean all by themself. Am I right? From my understanding an irreverant one would be one who shows disrespect for conventional wisdom. Just as the majority is not always right, does it not stand to reason that conventional wisdom made it difficult for our good buddy Christopher Columbus to seek funding for his voyage off the face of the earth. Did his desire to prove the world was round irreverant behavior?
The disrespect aligned with irreverance is not the degrading, bastardizing of some archaic rule or testimony. Rather irreverance is demonstrated in quiet action. No need to call someone an idiot because they don't value a nontraditional idea. Simply walking away from a ridiculous value system or a sort of, "I'll do it my way" mode of operandi, maybe even a laugh in the face of danger. Whatever the action showing disrespect without having that intent might be the foundation of an irreverant gal who just sees solo sailing a neat experience.
Why sit on the front pocrh with the rest of the aging population when I can throw caution to the wind and live in a world with a 100:1 ratio of men to women,,,,,",Irreverant," you say. I have to agree.
