Unlike the holiday shoppers who joined the black Friday frenzy, the inertia that keeps me moving from a 5:30 am swim to a late night walk with the dog, seemed to have been stopped when I boarded Delta flight 1450. From the moment I sat down on the aisle seat, stretched my legs, and began toying with my camera I metamorphed into a sedentary speciman.
Just as I am usually determined to spend an eighth of my day exercising, I became determined to organize the more than 1000 photos taken during my summer vacation. In retrospect, spending 62 days on board SPRAY, my F28 Corsair Trimaran led me to continue to sail every Wed., Sat., and Sun for the following three months. When the opportunity to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with my sister and brothers presented itself, I welcomed the change.
The endless inertia driven ambition, to work out an hour before and two hours after a demanding work day, along with the pursuit of a successful sailing career came to a halt. With hours between flights and chilly weather it was easy to take advantage of a sedentary lifestyle, albeit it will end at 8 am tomorrow morning when the inertia again changes back into the high powered aerobic pace of my normal everyday life.
So while others get stressed over holiday hoopla, I sit back, relax, and reflect on where I've been and what I have done!
For that, I am grateful, , ,
