This is both good and bad. How I mean this is the first initial question, "why are American's, all of us, paying over $2.00 in fuel cost. We should be like the Arabic countries of which pay only mear .25 - .75 cents per gallon since it comes from their own lands. This means the Americans should have the same luxeries, and please correct me if I am wrong.
The other issue concern, drill baby drill mentality, are we going to have health and safety issues? They are looking at 48,000 wells within 20 years. I am unsure if anyone has ever seen an oil field, I have, it is a sight that is both fasinating but sad. Hundreds of acres used, nothing can be built because of the oil, and it is rig after rig, it becomes a desert after awhile. This is something that people really need to consider. I am not acting as a puritan or a conservationalist, but I care about our land, because it must last us. If anyone has not read the paper, they are stating waste management is 136,000 gallons of sewage each day, that is per day?
Another concern is if these companies are making 1-4 Billion, and again BILLION dollars then there is absolutely no reason why we have taxation issues in the United States. We should not have absolutely no homeless or any issue for healthcare insurance for anyone, it should be covered, correct?
The last issue is that the mining is happening in American Indian Territory! The American Indians have the Right to have a controlling percentage of the drilling of which is in their territory "their lands". I feel very strongly on this. They should have updated housing, new schools, new colleges and the healthcare and wealth as a normal society. Again, there should not be any welfare cases at all for any American any longer. If these drilling companies think they are going to obtaining all the profits without paying for the ability to drill, well then maybe it should be government controlled? Have the Army Corps of Engineering take over the drilling / contruction.
What are your thoughts? Please share.............
