I started sailing in the BVI on a 5 day charter and was hooked. Joining the crew of first a Sabre 34 then a J92 and racing every weekend from mid May thru end of October for 9 years taught me a lot about sailing. I was the "foredeck guy". I loved to race, but we bought our own boat (Tartan 28) in 2000 and discovered the joys of cruising on your own boat. We sailed "Tenacious" from Haverstraw to Marblehead, MA, on a 3 week cruise with the Corinthians, a "clubless yacht club". It was great to end a cruise and know we would be back on the boat in a few days (see "destinations visited"). Now a USCG Master licensed captain, I teach sailing for Great Hudson Sailing Center as well as build "floating dreams" for Beneteau USA.
Current location:
Haverstraw, NY
Destinations visited:
Caribbean islands: BVI (8 trips), Grenada (4 trips) 25 trips back and forth through the islands on catamarans and monohulls.
