Profile Information

Profile Type:
Sailor
Homeport:
Chicago, Illinois
About Me:
I have been retired four years now. I decided to take up sailing two years ago. I have finished all my requirement of sailing lesson with Sailtime in Chicago. I finish up a navagation course over the winter months. I have started another advance navagation course and will be finish this fall.. I have a great passion for sailing. I love sailing and I live to sail. I want more adventure to other places, and with different people.
Current location:
Algonquin, Illinois
Destinations visited:
I have sail in California which was first time I chartered sailboat by myself of a 26ft range after I finish my lessons. I have sailed out of most of the harbor in Chicago areas also to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
I have sailed down the east coast of Florida to Fort Launderdale and across over to Bimibi, Nassau, and Georgetown.
During this time I lived aboard 33 foot Caliber for three months. This experience has taught me a lot more about sailing which I could not have obtained without owning a boat of my own. I have gain knowledge about mechanical, navagation, and more sailing experience which isn't bad for having two years experience.
Looking to:
I am looking forward to more travel south of Bahamas, Caribbeans, BVI, I want to travel up west coast of Florida along coast line over into Mexico. When will that happen who know but it will.

"Auto ascending setup is an interesting idea, though it takes a bit of fiddling around to get it right. Once it's dialed in, it actually works quite well."

"Michael, From experience over three keel boats a fully battened main is almost a requirement. Not only will it make dropping the sail into the boom bag far easier it certainly reduces any flogging and vastly lengthens the life of the sail. While…"
