I am a USCG-licensed 50T Master(Steam, Motor, Sail and towing) and the captain of s/v Mai Tai, a sailing/scuba diving Lagoon catamaran charter boat currently in the Great Lakes. I am hoping to do some world exploring with s/v Mai Tai in the near future! I have a passion for anything sailing especially windsurfing. I've windsurfed in Lake Michigan, Baja, Maui, Bonaire, the Oregon coast and the Gorge. I also work on the Research Vessel Neeskay. I'm very eco-conscious. "I don't know why they call them Environmentalists, they should call them survivalists because the environment will still be there. We just won't be able to live in it!"
I have a passion for music and have played in a variety of different bands, from dub reggae to rock!
I am replacing the panels. My window leaked and the plywood panels thart were viynal covered were rotten. I thought that it was a delaminated hull but it is just paneling glued to the walls. There are globs of a epoxy putty that holds the panels on. In places there is 1/2" of space between the hull and panel. I am adding insulation and had to use spray foam from the can to do the sides. I am going to use 1/2" sheet for the ceiling part and paint it all white. I plan to add LED lights in both white and red.
The 3gm Yanmars came in the boat, so they are starting to show a little age. They are good motors tho. They'll push it about 10 knts wide open, I use just one for cruising speed of around 7 knts.
What design is that wooden boat on your photos? Is it a Herreshoff design? It looked very similar to the boat they are restoring at the museum in Bristol, RI.
I took a wind surf lesson on maui(off maui actually) and it beat me down. I dig yer observation about environmentalist vs survivalist. That is so funny but true. Ye nailed that one. What type of work do ye do actually? Ive considered options but am in too deep in my recent (temp)endevours. Had some enviro coursework, geo, geology

"Have a 2010 43 and whilst racing recently and well heeled over on port had similar experience. Only in the aft heads and haven’t as yet sorted out where the ingress came from but suspect the shower drain. Never happened before in 15 years with…"
