I'm sorry but I think you misunderstood my reply. My answer was not to suggest that you have lymes disease, you don't Your lab work for this was normal. I was just trying to say the RMSF is not a chronic illness. It gets 'cleared' the same way that any blood bourne illness is cleared, antibiotics or your immune system fight the bacterial infection. For example, strep throat is a bacterial infection that improves with appropriate antibiotics. The bacteria dies, and is eliminated from the body. The tests we use to assess for RMSF show us your immune system, and if you have antibodies to RMSF it would suggest that you had infection in the past that was eliminated. It could also be falsely positive. Either way, there was no evidence that you have a current infection. If you would like a specialty evaluation, neurology would be the recommended experts for your symptoms. If you have a prior relationship, you don't need a referral. Let me know if you would like a different neurologist. Thanks for using MyChartDr. Isenhour----- Message ----- From: JACKSON,LOLA MARGARET Sent: 7/22/2013 9:00 AM EDT To: Christopher B Isenhour, MDSubject: RE: Test Results QuestionWell having my legs feel like they are going to give out on me and my arms ache too must be related to Lymes.Ive had MRI's and have UNIDENTIFIED BRIGHT SPOTS in my brain..as per Neurologist Dr in WilmintonVertigoTrouble sleepingBrain fogLong term Memory losstrouble walking after sittingrepeated UTI'sFeel the best when on antibioticsWeight gain..bulgingI see on my paperwok from Seacoast they want me to see a neurologist for the vertigoQuestion which Dr does one go to for Lymes?I do not ache when on antibioticsYou say it is cleared...how did it get cleared??Please reply,Thank you----- Message ----- From: Christopher B Isenhour, MD Sent: 7/22/2013 7:00 AM EDT To: Lola Margaret JacksonSubject: RE: Test Results Question I don't think RMSF would explain the aches. The test shows that you had it in the past and it is now cleared. Lyme disease is the one that can cause chronic muscle aches, usually not RMSF.Reflux causes the "throat closing" sensation you describe. I have called in omeprazole for gerd. It typically takes a couple of weeks to begin seeing a difference, and you have to use this one every morning at least 20 minutes before you eat. If it works to help with symptoms, I would recommend using if for a total of three months. Let me know by month's end if it is ineffective, and we would consider a GI referral. Thanks for using MyChartDr. Isenhour----- Message ----- From: JACKSON,LOLA MARGARET Sent: 7/20/2013 8:45 PM EDT To: Christopher B Isenhour, MDSubject: Test Results Question1. Would that be why I ache so much in my legs and arms? Rocky Mt Fever test? What can be done?2 Forgot to tell you when I ly down my throat closes often. .almost all the time3 I get acid reflux a lot too.Thank youLola J
