This is one of many natural formations in the Greek Islands. In some of the islands, the rocks are made by different geological factors such as volcanic eruptions. So part of the rock can be softer than the other. In this case, the top is harder. So wind and rain took away the bottom of the rock, leaving the top almost intacted. In Lesvos there is a whole petrified forest. A breath taking site.I hope this helped some how.
