sailing the river of grass

This boat looked like it was sailing in the grass. Reminded me of a situation that we got into on the Mekong delta during the war. We were patroling one night on the river and the tide was in so we got up into some rice paddies thinking we were still in the river. When the tide went out we were floating in a rice paddy. Good thing it was still night or the VC could have toasted us.
