Me and the better half "at the time" did this work on his boat...I recommend...hire someone, the job feels good after your complete, while you are physically doing the job... it can be perseived as "too much". We handled it well, or should I say, weathered the storm! Between removing everything, except the mast, off the top of the vessel, tapping up the areas that you did not want tape on, this included plugging wholes that you definitely did not want paint in. The mixing of paint, well, the other half at the time did that, count on me doing it, you might end up with soup....it needed to be thick, but it dried so quick, so it took two, primary coat, secondary coat and any fixing on the way. All I can say, it was hot, tedious, you need to be a contourtionist and patients. There was actually more prep. work then anything, scraping the old residue off, etc..Everything had to come off, stantions, hand rails, plugs, etc had to come out, hatches off..painted seperately...The midship faux wood, the b.h did that himself, all I did was hold down and keep steady for cutting...it came out great, a saw and a router...beleive it or not! Between the both of us working on it, the job lasted well over 3 weeks of prudent and diligent work...the job was complete. One of many jobs on this vessel I assisted with. This job took place around July and Aug. of 2010., if I remember correctly.
