well giddyap on down the big ditch or hit the super highway if you get a hankerin ..but just know that the Causeway bridge will be officially closed from July 7th thru most of the month of July. Btw, Ive seen those big boat splash pics before - but I was curious where that lil high dollar disaster took place ...surely it wasnt in the Kemah area was it ??
We have some kinfolk down in the LaPorte area ..they say it was hit pretty bad too ....from the looks of the photos you posted ...it appears that the "marina" is laying up on the hard ...were they designed for breakaway from the pilings?? Hope your boat fared ok ...it looks intact in your pics ...best of luck!
Jim ...the only Lepracaun (sp ??) I know of at this point is laying on the ground by one of the roads on the side where the "saved" boats have been placed. It appears to be intact & if memory serves me right ...it was a trailered rig that WAS in dry storage before the hurricane hit. Is this the one you are referring to? Its 25' or smaller in size. As for the 28 OI you refer to ...im not sure which one you are talking about ...there USED to be one in our Marina that had went up for sale long before the last few hurricanes and was sold and moved elsewhere to my recollection ...maybe it was moved over to A Row ...and hence ..it may very well be still lying up on the hill with whats left out there. Sounds like you guys are taking a beating on the splash pricing over there ...we actually had "fair" rates on the island at the tune of 100 bucks a foot..so we know its a painful endeavour for those without the means. Hope all goes well on yours ..let us know when you get her splashed and seaworthyt again...
