Okay..... I'll be content with my lil boat. Is a good lil boat. But will ask again next Dec., just in case you have some laying around up there in the snow. :-)
Thanks! Twizzled is 25', beam 8', draft 4', sloop rigged all lines lead aft. First boat..had a late start even tho had her bottom painted in the water the last Mon. of April. All my exp. had been on inboard engine boats..this one has an outboard. Outboard came out of water in Nov 08 working, after marina commissioned...not working..spent almost two mo. finding a new o/b and having put on. So aug/sept/oct/nov...about 35 sails....two omygeezus moments (one o/b died after backing out & other hit by a strong crosswind and didn't know what the hell i was doing..only a small scuff) other wise..about 33 perfect dockings. Can I singlehand..can on a 20' in a lake with no engine..didn't yet on this one..although probably can..as my boat's co-owner very green at beginning of season and I knew there would be no "flying squirrel" leaping onto dock when coming in for her. Had the roller furling block that's attached to the pushpit stancion come undone..on the "gonna singlehand the boat" week..so chickened out a bit. Learned alot in 3 1/2 months sailing..satisfied with my progress... no blood shed, no accident reports filled out..no running aground... a good summer. Taking the boat to a Y.C. in Winthrop, Ma. in the spring. on a mooring. Will singlehand in May when boat gets splashed. Kind of enjoy the company anyways! LOL... Very impressed on your sailing! Wow...a brave one! or nutz!!! :-)
< Note to self....winter project...practice knots. I know a few & have made a few what my crew fondly calls ...is that a "Terri knot" i always answer..it's probably in Ashley's....just don't know the name for it!!! :-) Hey, I've never lost anything yet & have been able to untie all!! :-)
Mr. Smith...
You look like a good person - a 'Happy Chappy' and you keep a nice boat - them biscuits look very fine...
I have been shoe horned into a Vancouver Condo for the last 7 years - still sailing - but I am going full time liveaboard again soon - crawling distance to work too...
I admit to being 'afeared' - I will miss my bath tub very much - but not much else to date...
I am thinking of a liner for the cockpit footwell - always thinking...
Have a good holiday - post recipes...
Damn - I keep commenting to myself to my own page - this site is different to boatdesign.net ...

Glad to hear you made it to Baltimore! Adverse conditions and in a manly fashion...and freeing...sounds like you and Kahill had a grand time! Hope you both have thawed out completely now and good luck on the accordian! :-)
Sounds like it was very manly indeed..lol...now if i heard u did it Montana style (bare feet) I'd be sooo dang impressed! Right now..i've got a spiral ham in the oven, pearled creamed onions cooking...fire in the fireplace, xmas music on...doing this in a very womanly fashion....right down to the hunting for the dead mouse that may be in the coat closet..ick. But do I have my pearl earrings on. :-) Glad i have a stuffy nose today. U find an accordion yet?? :-))
So Michigan huh...they do have water, lots of it from what i hear...if only for that visual water fix..may help. Yeah, hear ya on the "holiday" thing... sometimes family, kids, friends kind of want that "movie" Christmas/holiday time...hard to pull off...why try, should be a comfortable experience for all. Hoping you & Kahill had a nice time on the voyage..that will be a nice memory after all this Christmas hullabaloo is over. Hopefully no commitee meeting held...just tell them you want to take up the accordion..that outta cause a lull in whatever they may have planned for ya. :-) My son and i opened gifts in front of the roaring fire, had a lovely dinner and watched a few hours of the Deadliest Catch marathon....(my sea fix)... now i'm going to make myself a coconut rum/orange dry sode concoction and watch more Captains on the high seas... weeeeeeeee! Stay tough Captain... this won't last forever...just sit back...close yer eye's and think of sailing....and smile.....fool's em every time! Capt. Terri...Twizzler of shallow bays
Lordy....and I had visions of you snug as a bug under yer blankies! Well I must say I'm very impressed on how much you got done & problem solved. Sux to be the project engineer...specially whilst sliding under them big wheels.... Well, I say take the rest of the day off and play with the baby and drink coffee with yer feet up! I'm on my way back out, doing errands now that it's warmed up to a balmy 13degrees. :-)
Why?! What happened...you fall in a punch bowl? Pinapple rings on yer ears? Sounds sorta familiar.....a line from the "Elephant Man"? ...or else something.... bad hair day?? Been there myself. Well anyways...Happy New Year!
Try cucumbers and pureed papaya...or maybe smaller mirror? Those 5x magnification can scare the beejeebers outta ya. Did you have a nice New Year's Eve?
OMG....Can't believe I'm awake...0310....Thought I'd go to bed and read...guess not, fell asleep at 7:30 i think. Oh well..here I am and they say it's the best part of the day...dunno...maybe on a white powdery beach, 85d, gentle breeze...snowing here now..somethings coming from the north today. As long as you don't make the babies cry & dogs run and hide under the porch..yer doing good Captain :-)
Welcome back! How was the rest of the trip? Uneventful and not to chilly I hope....yeah, yeah.. I know yer from Montana... :-)... but think of poor Mercury...and his lil chilly gills!
Yeah, hear ya on the wisdom of it...but you know when moneys no object and you just have to have something.... Would be awesome to see them being built.

I had plans to head south this fall, but unforeseen damage to the drive line put me back, in both time and funds. Well, now I have a new prop and shaft, and painted the hull while I was out. It is good to be back in my old slip in Mt. Vernon, not so good to be iced in there! I hope to rebuild the cruise kitty and be ready for some good sailing in the spring. We should rendezvous sometime. There are a few other boats in the lower bay that are in this group. Maybe a group raftup would be in order sometime.

Uh oh... I always deliver my treats in tupperwear type things... so why do men ....rather..bachelors find this disturbing?? cause you have to see the woman again maybe?? lol... not really an "eat n run" thing??
You getting snow where you are? Heard maybe 3' in some parts. Yikes. Hope you're well provisioned if so. May be wishing for more tupperware with treats... :-)
Hope you have a quiet night with Miss Skipjack. I'm on my way to work..work'n extra hours tonite before the snow flies. Did my pre storm running around...salt in the buckets along the luge run..shovels in position. Can understand you wanting to be at sea. Not enough water where I am either. Woods are pretty, but not that pretty. Soon it will be time... I hope. Be safe, dress warm and eat treats! :-) Nite
hay sweetie---big winds blowing in miossisssippi sound--lol water big too---we ran for shelter lol--wind from west hasnt any saFE ANCHORAGES HERE--WOW--HOOOYAAAHHH!!! we didnt have to do it in mid of nite for a change lol.....goood sailing weather for my formosa LOL!!!
Love the look of varnished wood. Is this urethane? Previous owner used Cetol on my boat..hate the stuff, comes in colors unknown in nature..lol. Ahhh...excluding Kahill on the I-boat thing..then I'd say go pound sand. Did u fall overboard tonite or get twizzled with the lagging chat? Hitting the hay now..sleep tight.
