I'm in my late 20s and have decided the sailing life is for me! My wife and I plan to move to Florida very soon and buy a boat to cruise the Bahamas and Caribbean for a year or more.
Current location:
Albany, NY
Destinations visited:
Saratoga Lake, Lake George, Newport R.I., USVI, Jamaica
Looking to:
Increase my knowledge of all things related to cruising and make some new friends.
The hull on the 29.9 is solid fiberglass, so blisters are not much of a problem. The hull to deck joint is fiberglassed, then through-bolted every three inches all the way around, so it's very strong. The deck, but not the cabin trunk, is cored, so, like on any boat of it's age, it's good to look for soft spots - if any, they may be around the stantions or other deck fittings - not hard to fix, or harmful to the strength of the boat. We've sailed Paloma all over and through two Force 10 storms - she's a tough little boat.
Good luck in your search and be sure to get a good survey when you find the right boat.
