my first boat was a TMI 26 ...it was a GREAT first boat ..and I still miss some of the fun I had on her that cant be found anywhere else! Shes actually a bit rare if you go to diggin ....the closest thing to her was the Chrysler 26 which she was patterned after once Chrysler got bought up...personally I always thought she looked much better than the Chrysler version ..but then ...I think we ALL get a little bit partial to our rigs ....*LOL* Still, I dont think I would trade her back against what I have now ....Happy Sailing!

I need to have someone along to start.....chicken
  • Kevin M. Morton

LOL. My girlfriend was chicken as well this weekend, and I was with her! She got comfortable pretty quickly though, as I am sure you will too. Too bad you aren't on the left coast or I or one of my friends could help you! Find that friend soon. I started sailing because I haven't got long to live...in 30 years or so I might not be able to do this. ;-)

Not yet, and in no hurry...weather here is good year around, and I'm retired...so taking my time...am enjoying the condo for now.

Sharp boat you have, love a catalina for lines and sailing
  • Barry

She is a great boat, and from my expernice she sails very much like my C25 did, just bigger, and faster, she will do 9.5 knots and If the wind is right I can cruise on a beam reach 8.5 - 9.5 for an hour or better, I dont have to worry about much current, an waves take more time to build on the lake.

Thank you for the genours comments, :)

I have the 3 cabin pulman, I got the 3 cabin so I would have more room for guest, and the kids each get a cabin this way not fights over sleeping arrangements, lol...so works out good, I like the pulman plenty of head room, and love the forward shower and with door, is great set up, no hosing down the head, and wiping down everytime.

Hi Kevin, Hope you're getting some sailing in. I might be ordering a mastgate from Catalina Direct.. When I derigged boat for the first time, took it off & put in a safe place...lol....gonna give it 4 more weeks to show up. I know it didn't go out in the trash...I always get in trouble with those safe place's. Next time, duct taped to the ceiling.

Hey Kevin! Hope you're doing well and sailing your Baby. I'm getting splashed soon, I hope... still freak'in cold up here! Going tomorrow to finish polishing the brightwork. Someone told me months ago about replacement gasket (?) for port lights. Mine have dried and are slightly leak'in..do you know where I can get?? Looked on Cat. Direct site, no luck. Thanks! Terri
  • Terri

Hi Kevin, My ports all fixed (what were they think'n??). Have seen the CD kit for them, will probably get it. Will attempt fix'n the leak'n one first and see how I do. then get brave and do the rest. Thank you! Do they have replacement opening ports for head and port across from it. small ones, figure may replace those w/opening for some cross ventalation. Also bought a solar air fan..all on the "when i get brave" list.. :-)
  • Terri

Hi Kevin, still screwing around with the ports .... friend sealed two, one still leaking. Is it possible to buy just the gasket?? withouth the whole kit? Thinking about trying ourselves...company out here will do for 85.00 port without replacing gasket. Many have told me gasket doesn't do anything (interior) to keep water out, it's all in the proper rebedding. Thanks, Terri
