My wife and I started cruising about 10 years ago, so we are rather new but have fallen in love with sailing. Prior to purchasing our 30' Oday, I had been sailing small catamarans for years. I'm still learning a lot about cruising and hope to have many, many, more great cruising experiences.

Get to know other sailors and learn from each other. There's a lesson in every story!

John, I will find out about the molds from my friend Carl Tripp. He owns a marinia where I keep my boat. The marina is only about 20 miles from the old factory. He sold O'Days for years and he was also a board member for O'Day

I asked at my marina yesterday and they said they were the biggest O'Day dealer in the U.S. because they were only a few miles from them. and yes they did sell all the molds to Japan

I don't know I will have to ask, but i don't if they would know

John, I see that you sail out of Green Bay and based on your photos, it looks great. I've chartered several times in the southern half of the lake, out of Michigan City and enjoyed the experience a lot. Now, I'm looking to explore a bit farther north. Do you know of any charter opportunities out of the Green Bay area? I'd be driving in from Iowa, so the western shore of the lake is much easier to reach for me than the eastern.

If you have any thoughts, I sure be appreciative. Thanks, and hang in there till the warm weather returns.

John, thanks for getting back to me on the charter question. My initial posting was written at my desk in Iowa, but since then my wife and I (along w/ 2 other couples) have led 21 students to New Zealand. As a result, I'm writing to you now from a marina office in Auckland, where we're getting ready to do a 2 day charter. This is truly an amazing city for anyone who likes sailing.

Anyhow, my point (other than bragging about being in NZ) is that I'll have pretty irregular internet contact for the next couple of weeks, so if you respond, I'm not sure how long it will be till I can acknowledge.

    Thanks again for your response.
