hi chris in cocoa beach here. anybody in central fla?
  • Bill

Hello ...From the central Florida west coast,
  • Dave B

Hi all, Dave from Cape Coral, FL. I trailer Sail with the WCTSS and any time I feel like a sail. Have a 26 MacX and been sailing for over 40 yrs owning anything from a Dink to a 35 Alberg.
  • Melissa Renee

    Ahoy everyone, Key Biscayne here,
  • Dave B

High Melissa, just came back from a 5 day Trailer cruise to Pennicamp and stayed at the Marina doing day sails and Snorkling off the Reefs.
I got to see the Christ Statue again, this time in perfect clear waters and calm seas. Went out to Mollassas reef only to get 4-5 ft. breakers and 1.5 knot current so we just watched all the other 60 ft. plus boats roll and bonce.
Sat. was best sail as we had the wind just forward of the beam sailing 5.5 knots up and down S. of Biscayne
Sure glad I brought my 5000 btu window AC. Very hot, muggy and buggy.
We do Homestead and sail to Boca ,Elliot Key down thru Card Sound in Dec.28-Jan 1. with the WCTSS.
Alabama Jacks we always try to stop.
    Dave

Hey sailors, I am located and sail in northeast around Fernandina and Cumberland sound in my 23' Olympic Dolphin. I am new to sailing but have been around boats almost all my days.
  • floridasaillady

Hello everyone. My name is Joni and I live in Largo, Fl. I am enjoying just the cloudiness and breezes of Fay, a nice break in the intense sun and heat we had been experiencing here. I do not own a boat but enjoy sailing with my friends on their boats.
  • Ed

    Hello all,
I live north of Tampa, pull my Tri all around the state, sail whenever/wherever. Going out tomorrow on Lake Tarpon in Tarpon Springs. Should be good winds with the afteraffects of Faye still kicking around. The New Years sail out of Homestead is always fun. Launch 29 Dec and pull out 1 or 2 Jan. Usually 6 - 10 WCTSS members but everyone is welcome to sail along.

    Ed
  • Dave B

Welcome Ed, looks like the 10th year celebration of the WCTSS is post pone due to the Weather.
Since you will be missing the Oct. Club trip to Cayo Costa I probably wont meet up with you until the Dec. trip to Homestead.
    Dave

  • Melissa Renee

So far the good news is most of Florida so far has escaped the hurricane season so far.. Congrats to everyone! Keep those prayers, voodoo dances, Indian dances or what every you do to keep those destructive winds away.. Not sure yet when to put my boat back together again.
  • Rick

Hi all Sail out of Daytona Beach on a Catalina 250 looking for sailing buddies
  • Dave B

    Water is 87 degrees, temps 92,humidity at 7am 100%.
I have done at least 6 trips this summer (at least 3 days each) and so tired of sleeping in hot clammy conditions and ready for a good strong cold front from the North!!!
Ya I am getting to old and like the AC but I still get out there and find myself for relaxing and free from land living.
How many Floridians agree with me?
    Dave
  • Joe Murray

Nels, The West Coast Trailer Sailors plan a trip Dec. 28th thru Jan. 1st. launching at Homestead.(You can join us)
I have a Mac.X also and will probably have a couple more plus the Mac. S
We do this trip winter and summer but have never launched from Black Point.
Hows the ramps and parking, Cost per day for trailer and Truck?
    Dave
    Dave
  • Nels

    Hi Dave,
We keep our boat there for a monthly fee in a fenced-in area on the trailer, so I dont know what the fees are for transient. We have 12 ramps which are easy low or high tide. I have seen folks park their vehicles in our area for months at a time while they cruise around so let me check and get back with you.
The trip in sounds like fun keep me informed.
    Nels
