Greetings Axe Lovers,
Played last night in a restaurant here in Santa Barbara de Samana DR. Had a table full of cruisers. Some headed south like us, and some headed north. Also played a few times at the South Side Marina in Provo TCI. It is good to be able to entertain cruisers from time to time. They really appreciate the music, especially the oldies. Without an amp, it is hard to play loud enough in bars. I really prefer a quieter setting anyway. Boat parties are the best cause everyone usually listens. That's all for now, Fair winds and smooth seas.

Nothing quite like busking, eh, Martin? OK, so I never did it for a living (if you want to call it that), but for picking up some pocket change and having a good time in the process, "it's a gas, gas, gas!!!"

Definitely bring your trusty 6-string on board with you when you get a chance. And I'll send some good vibrations across the pond next time I'm singing Ralph McTell's "Streets of London."

Cheers, mate...

Okay, this isn't strictly within the theme of this group, but I stumbled across these a while back and think that if you have a guitar aboard then you are interested in music.

These come from something called "Playing for Change."

The visual and musical editing are incredible. The group spent four years going to five continents recording and coordinating street musicians into these remarkable videos.

The first is "Stand by Me."

Then comes "Don't Worry"

And finally the Bob Marley hymn "One Love"

If these renditions don't raise goose bumps to your arms or a tear to your eye then you either have no humanity or you're a Dick Cheney clone.

Hey guys, I play an SeaGul 6 string, An 1979 Alvarez 12 string, but my "boat guitar" is my old Yamaha Classical I've had since 1977. It's been around the world with me.

Sunday night in Fort Lauderdale I was there to hear Arlo Guthrie in concert. That man can sing, he can play, and he can still look great in blue jeans!

1st order of busness:
Happy New Year 'all!
Pete, you named all the guitarists that my 14 year old likes.
Another guitarist we've added to our youtube viewing is Carl Perkins.
One of the reason's why Carl, especially now, it that we bought a Peavey T-60 as a Christmas Present for the kid. Carl played the PV T-60.
