I do not have any comments at this time. I also bought Clairborne's Crusing Guide for the area. The information in it was great, but be careful. I tried anchoring in Bath last year and ran aground (using their recommendation.

Hi all, I'm planning to travel to the outer banks with a friend - around Frisco. We're going the beginning of June for 4 days. I'd like to go sailing while I'm there. Any ideas ? Tips ?

Sorry Bill, but I clean out the fridge every time I leave. But when I'm there you're always welcome to stop for a beer. I usually stock Yungling and Red Stripe. :--)

Thanks Boyd. Makes me feel better that maybe I had the "correct" spelling after all. :--) Al

Oops! I just noticed that I spelled the name of one of NC's nicest rivers incorrectly. We all know that it is the Neuse - not the Neuce river! :--) Al

I just discovered this group. My boat, the S/V Finlandia, is currently docked at Point Marina on Broad Creek near Whortonsville, NC and I plan to do a lot of sailing on the Neuce and the Pamlico this summer. Al

Hi Don and Peg with 3 ft draft you have lots of choices....the bottom is of course soft but shifty. I would think you could launch in New Bern, It would be almost a day's sail to the sound. Then the real fun begins. But I don't know if I'd want to try and sail back up the Neuse. There are lots of ramps in Moorehead City and Bueafort.
If you do launch in New Bern stop at the Bridge point and say hi...The boat is now named the Ula G good luck and have fun.....Dick Smith

Skinny water is hard for a Pacific Cost sailor to get used to so I crossed over to "the dark side" and went Powerboat last summer. Heart still sailing, but bring ont he water anywhere, any way is the best. Thanks for creating this Group, Edana, how is your new boat treating you?

Hey Edana, We may have an opportunity to sail for a week or two coming very shortly and we were thinking about heading South. Any suggestions for close destinations in that range around here. Farthest south we've been is Swansboro.
