We are going as well. Friday for sure, maybe Thursday if I can work it out. We are heading to the SSCA Gam in Annapolis next weekend also. We've never been to one and it looks like a great learning opportunity and well as a good chance to meet others. Hope to meet some of you there!

I'm planning on going. Need a new/used jib and figure that's a good excuse to head up. I can't make it until the weekend though.

I'm going to attempt another planned cruise on the Chesapeake in September. Sheila (wife,Admiral) and I on our Columibia 8.7, and Martin Duffy on his CS27, possibly one other couple on their Hunter 46 (?). Any and all are welcome. No set agenda as yet, just attempting to sail as far north as possible in a couple of weeks. Our starting point will be Urbanna, Duffy will be Deltaville. Anyone to the south or east can meet up with us in Dville area, or along the northern route, probably on the western shore. It would be great to make it to Baltimore with stops at St Mary's, Solomons, Annapolis. Perhaps more or less. Then back down the eastern shore , Oxford, Onancock, Tangier? Just playing it by ear at this point.
Start date, Sept.21,2009.
Reply here with suggestions or comments. I'll post something on the Columbia Yacht Owners wall as well.

We live NW of Philly and it took us 1:40 to get to marinas on the Sassafras River in Georgetown on the Eastern Shore. We were at Skipjack Cove but there are several others in the area Georgetown Yacht Basin, Sailing Associates, Sassafras Harbor and Duffy Creek. There are two launch ramps, the first is a public ramp the other is a double ramp at Duffy's. The Sassafras is a beautiful, but busy river. It will take you apx 45 mins to get to where the river opens up although many sail in and out the entire way. Georgetown is a very nice area and we spent the last 8 years there. We decided a change of pace was in order and are moving to Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Let me know if you'd like to know more.

Hi all, I'm looking for homeport in upper Chesapeake as close as possible to Philadelphia. I'm considering Havre de Grace but I'd really like to find a place on the Eastern Short north of Rock Hall. I'd prefer not to have to drive more than an hour - an hour and 1/2 max. RIght now, I want the option to either launch from trailer my 17 foot ODay, or find a reasonably priced slip. The slip would be ideal. Would love to hear from you. Thanks.

It would be nice to meet up somewhere with arrangements to sail in, so we can get photos of each others boats.

Welcome all new members to Chesapeake Sailors. It would be fun for everyone to meet up sometime this spring. I will be trying to catch up with some of you to help with planning a meet & sail activity. Safe sailing to all....Gaye Currier s/v Mad Dash 9
