Wayne, welcome to the group. I think you'll find a wealth of information from all the members. And of course enjoy your B40, its a heck of a boat.

October Moon

2008 B43

It now begins. Took delivery of the '08 B40. It had been out of the water for three years and winterized in Memphis.

The survey had been done out of water and as expected things were missed. Such as failed forward ac condensation sump pump, Johnson bilge pump diaphragm, bilge pump float switch intermittent, shower sump pump screen broken, broken toilet seat hinge, leaky Y valve at the handle shaft in the tank position (prob because when they launched and tested the flush it was in the overboard position and the through hull was closed), aft ac unit froze up, freezer thermostat and whatever else I find this weekend. Hope mud dobber nest doesn't fall on deck when the main is raised first time.

Most I've attended to two weeks ago and will tackle the Y valve this weekend. Quess I should pump out the holding tank before starting that replacement. And should look for obstructed return air duct for the aft ac unit.

Anyway, haven't had a sailboat since 2002 when my daughter started college. The work continues on the boat and look forward to sailing it this year.

And BTW, Hello Mike!

Hi Wayne.
Great! You're working a lot and I guess that early you will sail!
I saw in the photo that you have a folding prop ... Can you tell us wich type you have?
The engine is 3jh4e...29kw/40cv?

Max
2008 B40

Hello Max,

The prop is a three bladed Flex O Fold and yes the engine is a 40hp 3JH4E.

Hello Wayne.
Thank you...
I'm going to buy a flexofold propeller and I have a lot of doubt....
Do youk know which prop you have? A 18x13, a 17x14 or something else?
Do you know which is your max engine boat speed and the related RPM?
I guess that at the moment you don't have this information....but if you will have ....They would be very important for me....

Thanks a lot.....
MAx.
Ps: sorry for my English... I hope that it's enough to write on this forum. :-)

Hello Max,

I just returned from the boat. While onboard I looked through all the paperwork and owners manuals and did not find any information on the prop. So I cannot answer as to pitch, diameter, boat speed and rpm.

Perhaps someone else on this forum with more experience with the B40 can answer your question.

Maybe you should start a new discussion on the subject. If I find any helpful info I will pass it along to you.

Wayne

Thank you Wayne.
I started a new thread some weeks ago but It seems not interesting..

Tkank you for your effort I hope that when you will be in the sea we can discuss about boat speed and rpm.
In the meantime thank you yet.
Max.
