SeaKnots

Hi,
This is my first post in the group and first of alll I want to say Hi at all.

I have a Ben 40 with a yanmar 3jh4e (40cv) and I am thinking to buy a flexofold propeller.
They suggest me a 18x13R.
Have anyone experience with this boat and propeller in terms of sailing performance and boat speed under engine?
Do you have data for  boat speed at various RPM?

Thanks.
Best of all for everyone.

Hi,
I have a Kiwi feathering prop on my Beneteau 43, 4JH5E engine. It looks small and blades are a funny shape but it works perfectly. They set the pitch depending on size of engine, will need to know gearbox ratios, and it has full pitch in reverse so it's really powerful in reverse. UK agent is brilliant can't comment on USA.
Very pleased with it been on six years and has done circa 600 hours, 300 hours sailing around UK and Ireland last year with virtually continual head winds.
Oh and it was the cheapest feathering I could find.
Good luck

Hi Michael,

at the moment I prefer a Folding Prop due to better performance while sailing and also when "motoring".

My gearbox has a ratio in forwarding of 2.36.

don't worry... I'm not American....I'm Italian :-)
