We are the owners of a 2010 Beneteau 40 hull 177. We recently started experiencing problems with the cabin top windshield, large cabin windows, and black opening ports. I'd like to know if anyone else is having any of these problems or recommendations on courses of action.

1. Looking at the windshield from the bow, some of the black masking in the starboard upper corner has peeled off (outlined in red).

2. The large port salon window has what appears to be cracks inside of the material (circled in red). These cannot be felt on the inside or outside of the window.

3. The black paint external frame of the Lewmar opening ports has begun to peel (circled in red).

Any information would be appreciated.

Hi TJ

I had the bedding compound around the overhead windows on my 2009 boat (French) replaced under warranty, it was showing a few holes and bubbles.   A friend with a 54 had cracks in the window like you have, and again the windows were replaced under warranty.  l suggest you talk to the agent in your area. I am sure they will see you right.

Good luck

Cheers

Gavin

Thanks Gavin. I am glad Beneteau made things right.

We have contacted our Beneteau dealer to see where we go from here.
