I have seen the problem you are describing in the 42cc’s and 423’s. Unless your hull is still under warranty you are pretty much on your own. Perhaps Beneteau would send you a drawing which will give you a better idea of what you’re working with.
Repairs have been successfully made. In these cases, access was gained by carefully cutting through the top cover to get to the top of the tank. Once there, a large diameter 7” hole saw is used to get into the tank itself. A Watertight Locker Door Type TCL/4 can be used to cover the hole once the repair has been completed. The choice of repair materials is up to the owner. Splash has been successfully in some cases. By no means use any sealants like 4200 or 5200…. Good luck..

Boyd, did you post this problem on The Beneteau Owners website about 2 weeks ago? Someone did and I was wondering if it was you. Did Beneteau give you any ideas if the tank was part of the hull liner? I've never know them to do so but it doesn't mean they didn't on your model. Do you have the room to install a new inspection port? I would think you could do it a lot cheaper than $700 providing you had the space.

Gaye, have you tried contacting Beneteau? I just checked their on line parts system for that piece and didn't see it listed. That doesn't mean they can't get it for you. I'd give them a call.

Boyd, it's doubtful the water tanks are part of the hull liner. Beneteau uses seperate poly tanks. Are you sure it's the tank that's leaking?

I own a Beneteau 473 and we are missing the leaf for the table in the saloon. Does anyone know where I could purchase just the leaf?. Thanks.

Dan, thanks for the reply. I figured it out when I saw your names associated with the rally. Sounds like a good time.

Hey Mike, so sorry I didn't respond to your inquiry, which is now almost two months old (pathetic on my part). Tania is my partner on the Bermuda rally we run together.

Franc, thanks for the pics. Yes it does look great on both sides of the wall. I think I'll do something similiar. Fran gave me the idea of using a handicap grab bar on the head side. The tubing is large enough to accept the plug and cable, plus they have some that are chromed and look pretty nice. Might even come in handy if we were to use the head in rough weather.

On another note, have you installed any type of shower curtain in the fwd head? We're thinking about running a thin stainless curtain rod above the cabinets and vanity. Then we could have a curtain to pull across when we use the shower. Any thoughts?

Hey Mike,

Here are a couple of pictures of our TV set up. One of the TV showing no cables and one of the back of the bulkhead where the cables are routed through a metal tube in the fwd head. Looks great from both sides!

Franc and Andrea, I believe Bob at Winters installed your TV and used a stainless cover for the wiring in the fwd head. If it was you boat he did, do you have any pictures of it to share? We picked up a v/nice flat screen for the fwd salon bulkhead and will install it in the spring. Just looking for pics on how some have run the wiring.
