The mast is non-stayed, which means it has no spreaders. It is held up only by the glass of the deck, and is designed only for use on a boat originally built for an un-stayed mast. You can check on the Freedom Yacht line of boats for photos and a discussion. I hope you find what you are looking for.
Smooth sailing,

Stu Is the mast from a Hoyt cat ketch or the Mull sloop? The boats have different righting moments. Is the section circular or oval? I need it as the support for a rotating fairing for a wing mast I am building Do you think that it weighs less than 150 lbs without the track? Any idea how much to ship it to southern Ontario? I am in Thailand right now but will be returning to my boat in Canada for the summer the week after next. If the mast is still available and I determine it is suitable I would be interested although the price seems high considering that carbon tow has dropped in price from as high as $100.00 per pound to as low as $10.00
Tim,
The mast is from the David Pedrick designed Freedom 35 sloop, the generation after the Mull boats. It weighs approximately 400#. Current replacement cost (for a Freedom 35) is approximately $15000-$20,000.
I hope this helps.

Stu
Is this mast still for sale.. I own a shallow draft Phil Bolger design that currently has a wooden free standing mast tht I would like to replace with a carbon fiber mast. Yours seems to be a perfect match
